Hello Skiiers!
The course is fully installed and ready for use as of 4/7/2010.
Established in the mid 70's, the South River Ski Club continues to maintain a tournament ready slalom-course on the South River in Annapolis, Maryland. Our Site is permitted with the Maryland Department of Natural Resources as a controlled ski area.
We meet on the first Thursday of every month from April to October. The meeting locations vary from month to month. The meeting is open to current and prospective members as well as their families.
Although waterskiing can be one of the most exhilarating sports around, it is not something that is commonly taught in and educational setting such as at the YMCA, or at your local recreation department. Also, not everyone has the time or money to attend a professional ski school. For these reasons, it is your best bet to get involved with a water ski club to get the most out of the sport.
Whether you are young or not so young, or are a water-skiing beginner or a veteran, the SOUTH RIVER SKI CLUB could be the answer to your needs of having a good time on the water. You may love to ski but do not have access to a boat. Chances are you will find someone in the club that does and could take you for a spin.
HIGHLIGHTS
The South River Ski Club sponsored Severna Park Skiier Rachel McNealy for the Maryland State Tournament on July 12th, 2008. She won the Girls 2 Division and set a new Maryland State Slalom record of a 1/2 ball at 28 off. Way to go Rachel!!! She has gratefully thanked our club for our support.
Amy Craig, Chris Scotton, and Dave Williams all ran personal bests in their divisions as well. Overall, a great showing for the South River Ski Club.
We had a great time at the Junior Development Clinic on Friday, June 19th, 2009. 12 kids were awarded medals for their participation in the event.
